This association was established in 1972 then named as ThabaMoopo Taxi Association, The name subsequently changed to Greater Mankweng Taxi Association and then changed to Mankweng Taxi Association

Mankweng Taxi Association covers all the arrears falling within the magisterial district and all the arrears under the following Magoši : Molepo, Mamabolo, Mamabolo (Segopye), Mamabolo (Mankweng), Mothiba, Makotopong, Dikgale, Turfloop, Makgoba, Solomondale including areas in polokwane i.e Pick and Pay. Checkes, Polokwane Centre, Ramahlodi Park and any other areas within their line of operation.

Arears of operation and rank

M.T.A shall operate in all arrears mentioned above, MTA shall transport passengers from the arrears mentioned in 3 above to Polokwane and from Polokwane to all arrears mentioned and locally

Legal Status

The MTA is a body corporate with its own legal identity which is separate from its individual members. The MTA shall continue to exist even if the members change. The MTA may own property, enter into contracts and sue or be sued in its own name
